Christian will be going to preschool (school for 2 year old kids) next summer and I need to apply for school this year.  Most kindergartens give out application around September to November.  I’ve heard stories about some popular kindergartens where eager parents started sending in application long before their babies were born.  Thank god M both think the same way and don’t plan to apply for those schools.  What I look for in a preschool are:

• Close to home
• Clean environment
• Happy kids
• Fun/friendly teachers
• Emphasizes on creativity with moderate discipline

Already handed in application for one school and 2 more to go.  M and I checked out the schools and he likes the one closest to home haha.

Christian’s turned one today and has become a toddler.  We invited some friends over to celebrate this special occasion last saturday.

Party food for kids.  They were easy to make and looked cute.

I ordered this cake from Antique Patisserie because I really love their cakes especially the discontinued “going banana”.  The cake was lovely  as usual but I never requested the word “prince” on top of the cake.  I should have asked them to write gorilla on top.

Christian tasted chocolate for the first time…with his nose hehehe.  I just couldn’t resist putting cake on his nose.

Some of the kids already left the party when we took this picture.  Will definitely have the group pic taken early next year.

So many presents which I don’t plan to open soon.  No spoiled kid in this household.

Christian took his first step. =D

It’s been almost a month since my last post and Christian has been doing the usual…growing and playing.

Things he learnt this past month:

Crawling on his knees

Climbing the stairs

Throwing things

Waving his hands to greet people

When I say “look at daddy” he turns and looks at daddy

Grabs on furnitures to stand up in a speedy fashion

His favorite meal of the month:  Steamed seabass with tomato and cheese

Rash was a constant battle for Christian.  I’ve tried a few products over the past 9 months but they didn’t seem to work.  Last week he had lots of rash on his chest and it was quite itchy.  He always wanted to scratch his shoulders.   Yesterday I let him try another cream and the rash is gone the next day!!  Miracle!!  Thumbs up to Cherub Rubs.  They have a line of certified organic products made in Australia.  I bought the skin soothe to stop the itchiness, and skin balm to cure his rash.  LOVE!

It’s hard to believe Christian will be 9 months old tomorrow.  Wow actually he just turned 9 months because it’s 12:39am as I began to type.  Anyway life goes on and he’s growing into an active and loud baby.  He greeted me with a big smile this morning, which made me love him that much more.  Love kissing his chubby cheeks!!

He always aims for my gummy bear tarot deck whenever he gets to crawl in my room.  Sometimes I let him pick a card.

Multi-tasking!!  Reading and doing push-up at the same time.

Christian’s officially a crawler today!  He’s crawling everywhere like a worm it was fun to watch.  It’s a mystery why babies like to stick their little fingers into sockets.  When Christian saw the socket today he immediately put his finger in it and I stopped him.  By 5pm he’s really tired from bouncing, crawling and other activities.  Too bad he’s not getting a nap til nighttime.  He didn’t like the taste of fish (salmon/cod) so I tried created my own recipe with another less robust tasting kind of fish mixed with cooked tomato.  He finished the whole thing!  Now I am proud of myself hehe.

Turning into Gingy when bottle’s taken away.

Christian has learnt to:

• fish for hugs by reaching out his arms
• crawl a little bit
• make more silly faces
• stand on 2 feet by holding onto something
• make more sounds and say them really loud

He weighs about 21 lbs and has a healthy appetite.  The one thing he doesn’t like to eat is fish, which i’ll try to give him again soon muahaha.  His current meal plan is:

7am     6 oz of milk

11am    4 oz of milk + 1/2 a bowl of yogurt mixed with fruit

3pm     60 ml of veggie + apple/orange juice

5pm     snack time.  ie:  fruit puree, egg yolk, veggie soup, baby cracker etc

7:30pm  8 oz of milk

midnight   6 oz of milk

I am glad he’s a happy baby.  =D

update: he woke up and there’s sweat all over his back.  the temperature has dropped though so I guess it’s a good thing.

Christian has 2 lower teeth now and really likes to bite stuff.  I think his upper teeth might be coming out coz he’s been drooling more than usual, doesn’t like to eat warm stuff, doesn’t wanna drink as much milk, likes to bite, and now he’s running a slight fever (100F).  I gave him a bath to cool him down and now he’s taking a nap.  Hope he’ll be ok soon. *me in worried mom mode*
